A Lesson from the Swans

Nature is probably one of the most powerful healing medicine out there, and the best part is it's free.

I love both mountains and beaches. Often mountains invigorate me to explore, take risks, and go to the edge.

But being close to water, it calms and soothes my spirit, a different kind of solitude that pushes me to go deeper into the sea of emotions.

The storm has passed, the wind still blows strongly, and the rain still dwelves on these days. It seems peaceful but that sadness in the air still lingers.

The swans are indifferent, no good, no bad, no sadness, no joy. They just are. Just one stage of being which is just be. But yet for humans, just "be" is one of the hardest things to "do". We could go through not just one life but many lives and still do not know how to be.

In order to be, you have to be no one. Sound contradictory, doesn't it? When you're no one is when you become one with all that is, one with nature. We suffer only because we're separated from nature.

Admittedly, it has been hard for me to be lately, the circle still goes round, and the layers still shed, the journey continues on.

The swans are part of nature. It's in their nature to be that way and so they're free from suffering.

We too are part of nature, only we have forgotten it and separated ourselves, and so we suffer. Perhaps, it's the reason why whenever I come close to nature, it's like coming home to myself.

In that suffering though is a hidden gift that allows us to evolve, and that's why we're not animals. When you realize that gift is when you're on the journey to become the Alchemist of life.
